Chris Delaney ~ Founder & Co-Owner

Welcome to CD Roofing & Construction, where our story began with a determined young Chris venturing into the world of work in Ontario at 17. Travelling alongside his friend Leo, he explored a couple of jobs and opportunities, gaining diverse experiences and a thirst for success. From humble beginnings at White Rose Nurseries to crafting galvanized wire baskets at Dutchmaster Nurseries, Chris showcased his work ethic and ability to adapt.

His journey started with odd jobs in Newfoundland, honing skills in mechanics and even venturing into competitive derby racing. When a move to Ontario connected him with the roofing trade, Chris found his true calling. Working alongside Frank Hiptdidge, he absorbed the trade swiftly, eventually transitioning to start his roofing journey in Scarborough.

With an eye for opportunity and a passion for roofing, Chris flourished. His knack for the trade was evident when neighbours sought his expertise in roof installations, propelling him into the roofing business. Juggling work at Dutchmaster with roofing projects, Chris’s determination and dedication were unwavering.

The pivotal moment arrived in his second year of business when he secured a significant roofing contract through a recommendation from his aunt Mary, a respected figure in a robotic company. This landmark achievement marked the beginning of CD Roofing & Construction’s success story.

Over three decades, Chris attributes his achievements to the unwavering support of his friends, family, and dedicated employees. His acquisition of 3 other medium-sized roofing companies propelled the success of the company. Today, CD Roofing & Construction stands as a testament to Chris’s dedication, expertise, and commitment to delivering exceptional roofing and construction services.

Ryan Tierney ~ Co-Owner 

Welcome to the part of the story where expertise meets innovation in the world of roofing and construction. Our journey continues with Ryan, equipped with hands-on trade skills in masonry and computer/office skills, entering the scene in 2008 through Chris’s cousin who owned a masonry company that specialized in high-end custom homes. This connection with Chris Delaney set the stage for a transformative partnership. 

Guided by a vision for efficiency and excellence, Ryan’s management insight merged seamlessly with Chris’s expertise. Chris’s talent came naturally in the roofing craft and sales, however, he found himself challenged by paperwork and administrative hurdles. This gap was swiftly bridged by Ryan’s computer proficiency and business skills.

This synergy birthed a dynamic mentorship, with Ryan emerging as Chris’s protégé. Learning the business intricacies from Chris’s perspective, they embarked on a game-changing approach. Their joint efforts revolutionized the industry by tackling insurance complexities head-on, securing collaborations with dozens of restoration companies through meticulous documentation and streamlined processes previously absent in the industry.
